Introduction
An experienced advocate with a reputation for giving honest, open and full advice to clients at an early stage as to likely outcomes of their cases. He is well known for putting clients at their ease at court and for his ability to communicate with clients in a way that is both reassuring and understandable. He is always more than willing to advise in conference, at solicitor’s offices, in writing or over the phone.
Specialisms
In his early years Jamie worked principally in criminal law, representing clients at Crown Court in all matters from murder, rape and drug trafficking through to motoring offences and theft, before ultimately electing to specialise in family law.
Family Law
Jamie is instructed in Public and Private law childrens proceedings, Family Law Act proceedings and matrimonial finance.
Public Law
Jamie represents parents, grandparents and Guardians in a variety of cases involving complex issues including substance abuse, mental health and personality disorders, sexual abuse, extreme violence and chronic neglect. Jamie assists clients in hearings from First Appointments through to Final Hearings, including EPO and ICO hearings and appeal adoptions.
Private Law
In Private Law Jamie is regularly instructed in proceedings involving Child Arrangement Orders, Prohibitive Steps Orders and Specific Issue Orders. Such cases often include domestic abuse, sexual abuse, intractable contact disputes, parental alienation/ hostility, the appointment of rule 16.4 guardians, internal and international relocation and also child abduction.
Matrimonial Finance
Jamie has successfully represented both wives and husbands in financial remedy proceedings including proceedings involving hidden assets, property held abroad and division of trusts, pensions and businesses.
Personal Interests
Prior to joining the Bar Jamie was a Production Manager in theatre and film for 15 years and an Assistant Trainer in Newmarket for 3. He continues to enjoy theatre and horse riding as well as sailing and cycling.
